XenForo: how to add post count based user titles through the trophy system

If you have used any other forum script before and got used to having user titles, I have bad news for you, XenForo doesn't work like this

So you can't do it this way, but will have to do it via the trophy system in the admin panel. You should set your titles AS SOON AS YOU OPEN THE FORUMS because, once people start earning points and trophies, their numbers will remain and mess your point system. That means you'll have to EDIT EACH USER to remove their points.

We'll take TC as an example with out titles.

Here I have decided to award each member a NEW LEVEL, when they reach 100 posts. So, if you're new here, you're 'just joined'. If you have posted 100 messages, you'll become Level 1. At 200, Level 2, at 300 Level 3 and you guess the rest.

Since we don't have a regular titles system we need to rely on the TROPHIES.

1. Log into your admin panel
2. Choose the USERS menu
3. Click on TROPHIES. (in my case I have deleted EVERYTHING there).
4. Create new trophy - call it 'Level 1'. Set 100 as 'trophy points', give a description if you will. Click on the 'award this trophy if', leave everything untouched and put 100 under Content and achievements (the form is: User has posted at least X messages).
5. SAVE.
6. Create a new trophy. Call it 'Level 2'. Almost same settings, but put 200 posts in the 'user has posted at least X messages. The trophies are given one time only, they don't repeat, so you cannot award something twice (this is why we need new awards for each desired post count.
7. SAVE.
8. Do the same for the titles you have in mind. I have stopped at Level 5 for instance, since it will be a while until members actually reach 500 posts here. The moment I need new 'levels', I just add them up.
9. Open TROPHY USER TITLES
7. first one should be 'Just joined' ('new member' or whatever you want to call your newly registered members who haven't posted 100 messages). Points: 0.
8. Second one in my case: Level 1 - 100 points. Third - Level 2 - 200 points and so on.

If you already had some action in your forums, RUN THE CRON job for the trophies. If needed open the user accounts that don't show this correctly (had some points before and, even if they don't have the required amount of posts they show another rank - in my case some people with 20 posts had level 1, that's awarded for 100, just because they accrued points from registering till I got to set this). Edit their points to zero so that they will increment ranks as should.
